Vice-Chancellor International Scholarships Scheme

Background:

The Vice Chancellor’s International Scholarships are awarded to exceptional international students based on academic merit.  The Scholarship is open to all commencing international students enrolling in an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree and all applicants are automatically considered. 

Open to: Open to all international students who have an unconditional offer of admission for a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate coursework program at the University of Sydney by the deadline set in section “Scholarship Offer Details” below.
  The Scholarship will be awarded on the basis of academic merit as assessed from a student’s application for admission to an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree.
Value and Duration:

Four scholarship amounts may be offered

  1. $40,000 payable for one year in two equal instalments
  2. $20,000 payable for one year in two equal instalments
  3. $10,000 payable for one semester
  4. $5,000 payable for one semester
Application:

All eligible students with an unconditional offer by the round closing dates listed below will be considered.

There is no separate application for this scholarship, all eligible students will automatically be considered.

To qualify, secure an Unconditional Offer of Admission

before the following dates:

SEMESTER TWO 2018

  • Round 1 - 06 April 2018
  • Round 2 - 04 May 2018
  • Round 3 - 08 June 2018

SEMESTER ONE 2019

  • Round 1 - 05 October 2018
  • Round 2 - 07 December 2018
  • Round 3 - 11 January 2019

Dr Abdul Kalam International Undergraduate Scholarships

Background:

Dr APJ Abdul Kalam was the 11'h President of India. During his five years in office, Dr Abdul Kalam's focus was on transforming Indian into a developed nation by 2020. A distinguished scientist and aeronautical engineer by training, Dr Kalam advocated that it is possible to work cooperatively for an economically developed, prosperous and peaceful society. In recognition of his contribution to his profession, Dr Kalam was presented with an Honorary Doctorate of Engineering from the University of Sydney in 2011.

This Scholarship has been established to celebrate his commitment to education, and his endeavours to support outstanding students to develop as future leaders.

Open to:

International applicants who have an unconditional offer for any undergraduate program in the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technologies at the University of Sydney.

Applicants must have completed an Australian Year 12 qualification, or an International senior secondary qualification equivalent to an ATAR of at least 98.

Value: 50% of tuition fees

Deans International Undergraduate Scholarship

Background:

The purpose of this scholarship is to support prospective international students commencing undergraduate studies in the Faculty of Health Sciences.

Open to: The highest achieving international applicants based on their Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) or equivalent who have an unconditional offer of admission into a degree program in the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Sydney.
  Applicants will also be selected on the basis of a personal statement that demonstrates their leadership experience, future career goals and reason for choice of degree.
  Students must commence their studies in Semester One 2017. 
Value:

$6,000 per annum

Sydney School of Architecture, Design and Planning

Architecture, Design and Planning Dean's International Merit Scholarship

 

Background:

Established in 2003 by the Dean, the Architecture, Design and Planning Dean's International Merit Scholarship was created to encourage the most talented individuals to undertake undergraduate courses in the Faculty of Architecture. With the approval of the Dean, the scholarship may be deferred for maximum of one year before commencement of study. 

The scholarship is only tenable in the Faculty of Architecture.

Open to:

Recipients must be citizens or permanent residents of Australia.

 

Recipients must enrol full time in the agreed degree program during the tenure of their scholarship. 

 

The scholarship may not be held with another scholarship of equal or greater value
