The Conservation Project
To formulate a management strategy for the yellow-footed rock wallaby the dynamics of the populations must be understood.
If there is to be a captive breeding program it needs to be established whether individuals of the isolated groups move between the habitats and breed with the members of the other local populations. This information is required to ensure a genetic diversity of the proposed captive breeding groups.
As team leader of the YFRW Conservation Project, your first task is to establish the extent of interbreeding of the smaller sub-populations of Petrogale Xanthopus.
