Tosh and Boomer Shine were West Highland White Terriers, and were long-term collaborators on the ecology of suburban reptiles.
Tosh (1995-2008) conducted an ambitious but unreplicated removal experiment whereby he attempted to eliminate all reptiles from the Shine backyard.
Boomer's (1997-2008) primary research interest involved sensory detection of chemical cues from native and introduced vertebrates.
