Bioscience Research Fellow

The Queensland University of Technology (QUT) are seeking an experienced field entomologist/ecologist with a strong background in testing of novel insecticides to work within a vibrant biopesticides research group within QUT’s Science and Engineering Faculty.

This position works with experienced researchers and technical assistants with strong links to Biopesticides and Agricultural Industries. The position will conduct original research on the evaluation of invertebrate pathogens (baculoviruses and entomopathogenic fungi) towards the registration of novel biopesticides against insect pests of stored grain and field crops. This work will be conducted in collaboration with national and international partners, and is funded by the Grains Research and Development Corporation.

Blaustein Postdoctoral Fellowship

Applications are invited for candidates interested in conducting postdoctoral research at the Jacob Blaustein Institutes for Desert Research (BIDR).

The fellowships are for a period of 1-2 years, beginning in 2013. Research is on topics related to drylands and which include among others: Desert ecology, Rainfed and irrigated agriculture, Aquaculture,

Assistant Professor in Organismal Sensing

The Department of Biological Sciences at New Jersey Institute of Technology is looking for a new tenure-track Assistant Professor in Organismal Sensing.

This position will involve research using techniques for detecting, monitoring and/or tracking organisms with the goal of understanding ecological processes at any level of organization, from the individual to the biosphere. Methodological approaches may include, but are not limited to, traditional remote sensing techniques such as satellite imagery and GIS, or alternative approaches such as RFID, machine vision, sonar, and radar.
