Postgraduate Research - Events
We have over 75 postgraduate students in the department providing a great opportunity to mingle with like-minded people in a friendly atmosphere. The postgraduate students committee regularly organise pub nights and sporting events for all postgrads to attend.
Every Wednesday afternoon at 4.30pm on the front lawns (or at Victoria Park, if we are too many) we play Frisbee. Don’t worry if you’ve never held a Frisbee before, as none of us knew how to play before we started. Every Friday afternoon at 5pm on the front lawns we play Soccer. Both events are a great chance to meet other postgrads and people in the department in a friendly sporting arena.

Postgraduate Students Frisbee at Front Lawns
We spend a couple of weekends a year at Warrah, the school’s research station at Pearl Beach on the Central Coast. This involves eating good food and beaching it up in a beautiful bush land setting. We also talk shop at some point by discussing papers and current hot topics in the biological sciences…just to get the intellectual juices flowing.

So look out for emails keeping you informed of upcoming events and most importantly come along to them and meet people!!
