Our services: routine analysis and tailored analysis
The NMR Facility provides an efficient and reliable analysis service, which offers rapid turnaround and reliability of results. Samples should be submitted according to the instructions provided on this page. Routine analysis includes sample preparation, data collection, processing and report preparation. Results are typically provided as an electronic PDF version of the spectra recorded. Basic interpretation and processing such as integration and peak picking is also provided.
Typical experiments which are offered as examples of routine analysis include:
- 1H NMR experiments, including basic processing and integration
- 31P NMR experiments, with and without 1H decoupling
- 13C NMR experiments, with various decoupling applications
- Simple 1H-1H and 1H-13C 2D experiments, such as COSY, NOESY, HSQC and HMBC
A range of other techniques and resources are also available, including variable temperature capabilities, multinuclear detection, different magnetic fields and sensitive sample handling. Multiple batch samples requiring long experiment times can be carried out in off-peak times using the NMRCase autosampler. Please speak to NMR Staff if you are unsure about which NMR experiment is the most suitable for your application. The School of Chemistry also has a number of other analytical service facilities which may also be of interest.
