  • The Facilities and Workshops of the School of Chemistry are primarily focussed on providing services to all staff and students of the School of Chemistry. Enquiries from outside the School are welcome, and should be directed to the appropriate staff contact, listed on the Staff Contacts page .

  • Each website is maintained independently and operates separately from all others.
  • Click to expand answerWhy can't I access any of the Facility or Workshop websites from home?
  • The Faclities and Workshop websites are intranet services only. This means that they can only be accessed from within the School of Chemistry network (in the Chemistry building or Madsen). Your computer needs to be connected to the network (physically or wireless) from within Chemistry.

  • The security of websites is much easier to manage if the access to them is limited to a controlled network.

  • Every Facility has a publicly accessible website, which you can view from the contact page, or via the School of Chemistry website. The public website may not contain all information.

  • Usually, the easiest way is to contact the relevant Facility or Workshop manager via email or phone and ask nicely.

  • You should approach the relevant staff member listed on the Staff Contacts page . They are all very nice people who will be more than happy to help you with your enquiries. If you are unsure who to ask, and someone in your own research group can't point you in the right direction, you can send a general enquiry email to the Facilities Enquiry Group

  • You will find Facility specific information on each Facility website. Each Facility has different requirements and procedures for training.

  • All Facilities and Workshops operate on a cost recovery model, which means that all users pay a nominal fee for accessing services. The costs for each unit are specified on the individual websites.
