thermophysical properties facility
The Thermophysical Properties Facility of the University of Sydney provides a suite of Magnetic Susceptibility, Heat Capacity and Resistivity analysis (PPMS), ThermoGravimetric Analysis (TGA) and Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) to both internal and external clients.
The facility has laboratories on the first (PPMS) and third (TGA/DSC) floors of the School of Chemistry and is currently equipped with a Quantum Design PPMS (2 to 400 K in magnetic fields up to 9 T) with VSM, ACMS, heat capacity and resistivity measurement capability plus a TA Instruments 2950 TGA (ambient to 1000 °C), a TA Instruments 2920 DSC ( -150 °C to 600 °C) and a MicroCal Isothermal Titration Calorimeter (ITC 200).
