Location of the Facility

The Vibrational Spectroscopy Facility is one of the research facilities within the School of Chemistry (F11) at The University of Sydney. It is located on Level 1 in Rooms 256 to 260 of the Madsen Building (F09).

Enter the Madsen building from Eastern Avenue go through the main doors and turn left straight away. There is a staircase leading down to the lower ground level. When you exit the stairwell turn right. The laboratory is the first door on the right and is marked “Vibrational Spectroscopy Facility”.

Getting There

Car: If you are driving, I would recommend parking in the Shepherd Street Car Park, which is $6 a day. Alternatively, if you arrive early enough there is some street parking available around Darlington Road. Parking on campus is $24 a day.
Bus: From Railway Square you can take any bus whose route number begins with 42 i.e. 422, 426, 428… and it will stop just outside the main gates at City Rd. Walk through the gates and the Madsen building is the first building on the left.
Train: The closest station to the University is Redfern. There is a security bus that runs from the University to the station; however this only runs in the evenings.
