synthesis of functional organic compounds
Particular areas of interest in the Crossley Research Group include:
- molecular recognition by porphyrin systems
- porphyrin arrays as models for light-harvesting systems involved in photosynthesis
- new advanced materials
- porphyrins as medicinal compounds
The projects on offer involve the synthesis of functional organic molecules that are designed to have interesting and useful properties. In general the compounds are based upon heterocyclic porphyrin systems. Please contact Professor Crossley to discuss what research projects are on offer.
