Services Available

The NMR Facility provides a range of flexible services which can be adapted to best suite the needs of your applications. Services provided by the NMR Facility include:

  • Sample Analysis Service. Samples can be sent to us for analysis by NMR Spectroscopy. This service is not limited to School of Chemistry researchers, and we welcome enquires from all disciplines within the University, and the wider community. You can read more on the Analysis Service Page
  • Training and Education. Staff of the NMR Facility provide training to NMR users in spectrometer operation and software applications. Training seminars are held periodically throughout the year covering a range of topics aimed at introductory and intermediate level. Please speak to Dr Ian Luck for more information about training and education assistance.
  • Consultation and Technical Assistance. We are able to provide consultation and assistance in experimental design, data processing and interpretation for your NMR experiments. Staff have expertise in a wide range of chemical applications, with particular interests in organic, organometallic, bioorganic and phosphorus chemistry.

School of Chemistry NMR Users

The NMR Facility offers support for your research and analytical projects through a number of avenues:

  • Training to operate NMR spectrometers and software
  • Consultation and advice in experimental choice and design
  • Collaboration in NMR oriented research projects
  • Assistance in data processing and interpretation

The NMR Facility encourages all Chemistry School users of NMR to broaden their knowledge of NMR and gain plenty of hands-on experience using a wide range of experimental techniques and different equipment. All users must be licensed prior to using the spectrometers and for those new to NMR, training sessions are available. For details about training, licensing and other services available to internal users, please visit the internal NMR Facility website, nmr2net. For people who require infrequent use of NMR spectroscopy, or for those with any special requirements, samples can be submitted to the NMR Facility Analysis Service.
