Project: (HPSC1) Mental Health in Asia

Over the past two decades, the World Health Organisation has been paying more attention to the human and economic costs of mental illness in developing countries. Several approaches to provide mental health care in resource-poor environments have been proposed and trialed. In this project, we will develop case studies investigating the state of mental health care in a number of Asian countries, highlighting interesting and promising initiatives. I will draw on my involvement in mental health care in Indonesia.
