Completion requirements

To qualify for the Graduate Diploma in Marine Science and Management, you must complete a total of 36 credit points of units of study, comprising:

  • 6 credit point capstone unit of study
  • 18 credit points of core units of study
  • 12 credit points of elective units of study
  • units of study from 3 of the 4 areas of knowledge. (No requirements to take units in partner universities.)

  • 3 out of 4 areas of knowledge are already covered
  • If you are considering upgrading to a Master Research Pathway, you will need to choose 6cp core and 12cp of electives in your first semester. If your average mark is credit or more, you can upgrade to the Master Research Pathway completing over two more semesters of the following: 18cp core (including MARS5009 and MARS5005) and 12cp at partner universities. Please note: this upgrade will need two further semesters and MARS5005 is only available to students who have completed 24cp with a credit average or more. Therefore MARS5005 will be taken in the last semester only.
