Timetable and Unit of Study information
The Sydney Marine Science and Management program is experience-focused. As well as classroom-based teaching, you will undertake an array of intensive field experiences and practical work. Some courses are delivered traditionally, in an on-campus week-to-week ('weekly delivery') mode; whereas others are delivered in the field in blocks of up to 2 weeks. Courses can also be a combination of field and classroom delivery.
You should take into account the varying modes of delivery when planning your degree and if in doubt, contact the unit of study coordinator.
The units of study offered in the program are divided into 4 areas of knowledge:
AREAS OF KNOWLEDGE - COLOUR KEY
BIOS: Marine biology / Biological oceanography
GEOS: Marine geosciences / Coastal engineering
PHYS: Physical oceanography / Marine engineering
ENVI: Environmental management / Sustainability
Below is a list of ALL units of study in this program offered at Sydney University and the area of knowledge they belong to; there is also information on the mode of delivery. As timetables vary from semester to semester, you should always confirm dates and mode of delivery with the unit of study coordinator.
This is a cross-institutional program and students are encouraged to take two units of study from our partner universities. Please read the information on how to apply for cross-institutional study at the partner universities.
Program requirements and units of study offered at our partner universities are found at the following websites:
