Research interests
I work in the laboratory of Prof. Iain Campbell, with interests in the molecular and cellular mechanisms of inflammation in the central nervous system. With a background in gene therapy research, I specialise in methods of gene delivery by viral vectors. Recently, I have been investigating the role of the myeloid transcription factor PU.1.in the interferon-gamma mediated induction of the chemokine CXCL9.
Teaching areas
Molecular Biology.
I am the coordinator of MBLG2x71 and BMED2405, and I teach in a number of units of study. I also have a strong interest in the scholarship of teaching and learning. My teaching research focuses on improving student engagement in lectures, and developing methods and training to provide more useful and efficient feedback to students.
