Biographical details

Bo obtained her PhD from James Cook University (Australia) in 1999 in the field of low temperature plasmas physics. She then took up a postdoctoral fellow position in the Space Physics Group, University of Sydney, and works there since. She has published over 50 refereed papers in books and journals, and presented over 20 invited talks at international and national conferences. Bo is a regular reviewer for leading international journals (e.g., Astrophysical Journal, Astronomy & Astrophysics, and Physics of Plasmas) and a convener for international conferences (e.g., Asia Oceania Geoscience Society - AOGS and International Association for Geomagnetism and Aeronomy - IAGA).

Research interests

Bo's current research interests include radio emissions in the solar system, plasma instabilities, beam-wave and wave-wave interactions in plasmas in general, and stochastic wave growth in space and lab plasmas. She is also interested in charged particle transport in low temperature plasmas. Bo uses large-scale kinetic and other simulations in her space and plasma physics research. Member of the Complex Systems Research Group.
