Biographical details

After completing my PhD at QUT in Brisbane with Peter Mather in 2006, I took up an NSF funded postdoc at Durham University, UK, in Rus Hoelzel’s group, followed by an International Incoming Marie Curie Fellowship with Gary Carvalho at Bangor University, and several subsequent postdocs with Gary funded by NERC and the EU. I took up a Lectureship at Bangor in 2013, followed by a Senior Lectureship in 2014. Upon returning to Australia the end of 2015, I had a career break before starting at The University of Sydney in June 2017.

Research interests

I am a population geneticist focussing on molecular ecology, with a current interest in the development and application of novel tools (e.g. environmental and ancient DNA) for biodiversity science.
