Biographical details

A/Prof Kuncic is an international expert in the application of physics to medicine and biology, with specific expertise in theoretical and computational modelling. She is the Director of the Advanced Computing Facility for Cancer Research and leads the Complex Systems and Modelling Research Theme of the Charles Perkins Centre.

Research interests

A/Prof Kuncic leads a highly interdisciplinary research program at the interface between the physical and life sciences. Physics-based strategies (experimental as well as theoretical and computational modelling approaches) and fundamental physical principles are applied to advance our understanding of complex living systems and human diseases. Current areas of research interest include: radiation biophysics, biomedical imaging, nanomedicine and systems biology. For further information, visit her research web pages.

A/Prof Kuncic is an elected Fellow of the Australian Institute of Physics (FAIP) and was awarded the prestigious 1851 Royal Commission International Research Fellowship in Science and Engineering, which boasts several Nobel laureates amongst its former recipients (e.g. Dirac, Rutherford, Cockcroft).
