About us

CUDOS group

The Centre for Ultrahigh bandwidth Devices for Optical Systems (CUDOS) commenced operation in January 2003. The Centre’s research is directed by Professor Benjamin Eggleton of the University of Sydney, with Professor Yuri Kivshar of the Australian National University as Deputy Director and Professor Martijn de Sterke of the University of Sydney as Associate Director.

CUDOS is a research consortium between six Australian Universities:
The University of Sydney (CUDOS headquarters), Macquarie University, University of Technology Sydney, Australian National University, RMIT University and Monash University.

The centre also builds on research links with photonics research groups at other Australian universities and CRCs, and with international partners such as Bell Labs and OFS Laboratories in the USA, and CNRS in France.

From 2003 - 2017, we were funded by the Australian Research Council (ARC) under the Centres of Excellence program.
