Vacation Scholarships

Vacation scholarships are offered to currently-enrolled undergraduate students, who are performing at a high academic standard, to enable them to participate in research with one of the research groups in the School of Physics. The maximum duration is 6 weeks within the summer vacation period of December 2012 to March 2013.

Applicants are advised to consult the Research web pages for information on the many research areas within the School. They should contact a staff member in the relevant area for advice on possible projects. Scholars will receive a tax-free stipend of $650 per week.

All students are encouraged to apply, but preference will be given to undergraduate students in their senior years and those with prior research experience - for example, through the University of Sydney's Talented Student Program or other undergraduate project work.

Vacation Scholars will be required to provide a short written report and/or a 15-minute talk at the conclusion of their project.

Applications closed on Friday 14 September 2012.
