The next Professor Harry Messel International Science School (ISS) will be held at the University of Sydney from Sunday 7 July to Saturday 20 July 2019. This will be oour 40th ISS program, and it's going to be a great one.

The specifics of the ISS2019 theme and program are currently being finalised here at ISS Central HQ, so stay tuned in 2018 for more details — coming soon!

ISS2019 will be unlike another other experience you've had. You'll meet and learn from inspiring scientists about cutting-edge research, experience university life in the research and teaching labs and lecture theatres of the University of Sydney, and get to know a crowd of other science-mad students from all over the world: China, India, Japan, Singapore, New Zealand, Thailand, the UK and the USA.

During ISS2019 all 140 students, along with our volunteer staff, will live for the two weeks at Kincoppal Rose Bay (KRB) School, a boarding school on the edge of stunning Sydney Harbour. Each day we will travel across to the University of Sydney for scientific talks, lab tours, experiments and other hands-on activities.

Evenings and weekends there's plenty to keep you busy: trivia competitions and movie nights, a harbour cruise, the ISS Gala Reception, the infamous Talent Night, bush walks, city tours ...

You'll be well looked after. We have a dozen staff, all university students who have all been through the ISS program at least once before, as well as two House Parents — their job is to help us make sure everyone is safe and having a good time.

When the two weeks are up ... well, chances are you're not going to want to leave!

"It was life changing and inspiring, and made me excited for my future and the future of science, and to see what my fellow scholars (now friends) will do. Words cannot express my gratitude at being given this opportunity."
