Research Fellow and Project Leader at CRC ASP: Cooperative Research Center for Alertness Safety and Productivity, School of Physics.

Research interests

  1. Computational biology, in particular physiologically based mathematical modeling of neuronal populations and single neurons involved in regulation of sleep and biological rhythms.
  2. Circadian dynamics, in particular circadian and sleep disturbances during shiftwork and jetlag, their neuronal mechanisms, and interventions to improve alertness.
  3. Neurodynamics, including neuronal synchronization, spiking patterns generation, and synaptic plasticity.
