Information for School Students and Teachers
Kickstart Physics is our program of Physics workshops. In 2013 we ran workshops for nearly over 3200 students. Kickstart is run by the Faculty of Science. There are also Kickstart programs in Chemistry and Biology.
Kickstart also has a touring component called Kickstart on the Road and visits regional centers in NSW bringing the Kickstart lab to students who might not have otherwise had the chance to participate in the Kickstart workshops
We run other interactive High School Workshops and Talks and syllabus-based lectures for high-schoolers of all levels on-campus.
Physics Teachers blog
For HSC Physics teachers with tricky questions, a blog is now online. Take part in discussions with fellow teachers, physics academics and Physics students from the School of Physics.
Physics is an active participant in the Science Faculty’s programs, such as Gifted and Talented Workshops and broader programs, such as the Science Experience.
You can find us at the University Open days, such as Sydney Uni Open Day and Information Day. Look out for solar telescope viewings and other public and community events.
The Science Foundation for Physics runs the International Science School (ISS) and the Science Teachers Workshops at the School of Physics in alternate years.
