How To Apply
There are two steps to applying for the Psychology Honours program. Both steps must be completed by the deadlines. Please download and read through the Honours Information Booklet for 2014 before applying.
Step 1 School of Psychology Online Application
School of Psychology Online Application Form (Applications for 2014 are closed and applications for 2015 will open in September 2014)
All applicants(including BPsych and BA(Psych)students) must apply directly to the School of Psychology by submitting the School of Psychology online Application Form.
Applicants for our Honours program do not need to contact potential supervisors in our school before lodging your applications with us or the relevant faculty. THE RECEIPT OF SCHOOL OF PSYCHOLOGY ONLINE APPLICATION is Proof of contact with an Academic Coordinator. The students will be requested to submit an online Research Preference Form after being accepted into our Honours program. An appropriate supervisor will be allocated to each student based on the research preferences submitted.
Step 2 Faculty Applications
All applicants (except BPsych students) must apply through Sydney Courses (Applications for 2014 are closed.)
Please note: The honours degree students apply for depends on their undergraduate degree, i.e. a student who completed a Bachelor of Arts will need to apply for Bachelor of Arts (Honours) while a student who completed a Bachelor of Liberal Arts and Science should apply for Bachelor of Liberal Arts and Science (Honours).
Special information for Bachelor of Health Sciences (Honours): Students who have completed an accredited Psychology major in the Bachelor of Health Sciences should enroll in the Bachelor of Health Sciences (Honours). However, this qualification is only accredited by the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council and the Psychology Board of Australia for students who are accepted into the School of Psychology Honours programme. The Bachelor of Health Sciences (Honours) programme offered by the Faculty of Health Sciences has not been accredited by these bodies. Students who are not sure about their eligibility to apply for the accredited Psychology Honours programme should contact
External students who completed their bachelor’s degrees at other Australian universities should enroll in Bachelor of Science (Honours) or Bachelor of Arts (Honours) depending on their previous degree.
International students who are currently enrolled at the University of Sydney must complete the same steps above and also complete an International Undergraduate Student Application Form and lodge the form to the International Student Office.
External International students must apply through the International Student Office.
