Taking the First Step

We have enormous respect for anyone who has the courage to acknowledge that they have a problem and is willing to do something about it. There is no judgment here at the clinic. We don’t believe anyone sets out to end up with a gambling problem.

Why us?

We have a terrific team of qualified psychologists who have chosen to work specifically in the problem gambling field. Over the past 15 years we’ve helped over 3,000 people from all walks of life and with varying degrees of gambling difficulties get their lives back on track. We follow the progress of our clients up to two years after they finish treatment, so we know our program is effective.

Our Treatment Approach

Gambling treatment is delivered face-to-face, with hour long, weekly sessions typically delivered over 2-3 months, though the actual length will depend on your needs.

We start by exploring the impact gambling has had on your life and work with you to develop your treatment goals. We go on to explore your personal beliefs about gambling, which is an interesting and engaging process. We also address any other problems you might be experiencing such as anxiety, depression and relationship issues and can refer you to, or liaise with other services where necessary. Treatment is effective for the vast majority of our clients. Even for people who have been gambling for decades.

Call us on 1800 482 482 Monday to Friday during business hours, or email us at psychology.gtc@sydney.edu.au to book an appointment or to find out more.
