Admission requirements for domestic students

Although you do not specifically need to hold a science degree, you must have some form of tertiary qualification where there is an emphasis on subjects related to spatial sciences. For instance, you may hold a Bachelor of Arts majoring in geography, or an engineering degree, or a degree in agricultural science. Alternatively, applicants must have substantial experience in the workplace and some type of tertiary qualification. Each application will be assessed on its individual merits.

On recommendation from the Dean of Science, available places will be offered to qualified applicants, according to the admissions criteria below.

In exceptional circumstances, the Dean of Science may admit applicants to the Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma without the following qualifications but whose evidence of experience and achievement is deemed by the Dean to be equivalent.

Graduate Certificate in Spatial Information Science

Domestic applicants for the Graduate Certificate in Spatial Information Science must have:

• a Bachelor's degree in science or other relevant degree in the physical or numeric sciences, or equivalent qualification

Graduate Diploma in Spatial Information Science

Domestic applicants for the Graduate Diploma in Spatial Information Science must have:

• a Bachelor's degree in science or other relevant degree in the physical or numeric sciences, or equivalent qualification; OR
• completion of the embedded Graduate Certificate in this stream, from the University of Sydney, or equivalent qualification

Master of Science in Spatial Information Science

Domestic applicants for the Master of Science in Spatial Information Science must have:

• a Bachelor's degree in science or other relevant degree in the physical or numeric sciences with a credit average, or equivalent qualification; OR
• a Bachelor of Science with Honours from the University of Sydney, or equivalent qualification; OR
• completion of the embedded Graduate Diploma in this stream, from the University of Sydney, or equivalent qualification
