Faculty Teaching Awards
The Faculty of Science rewards excellence in teaching each year though the Faculty Teaching Awards. Nominations are made by the Heads of School and submitted to the Faculty of Science Awards Committee. The teaching awards are presented to recipients at the annual Faculty of Science awards presentation evening.
University Teaching Awards
Vice Chancellors Awards for Outstanding Teaching
The University has established annual awards to recognise and reward outstanding teaching, excellence in research supervision and support of the student experience at the University of Sydney. Information on each award, including award criteria, details of how to apply and resources to support staff in preparing their application, is available.
The Institute for Teaching and Learning will provide an information seminar to support staff in preparing their applications for the Vice-Chancellor's Awards. All intending applicants are strongly advised to attend this session.
The University Co-operative Bookshop Excellence in Teaching and Community Award
The purpose of this award is to promote, recognise and reward teaching practices that offer a fulfilling and well-rounded student-centred experience including access to academic and support resources and appreciation of the University of Sydney Community.

External Teaching Awards
The Australian Learning and Teaching Council (ALTC)
The Australian Government offer annual awards for university teaching through the Australian Learning and Teaching Council (ALTC).
The University of Sydney's applications for these awards are coordinated by the Executive Officer in the Office of the DVC (Education). Australian College of Educators (ACE)
ACE has many national, state (including the NSW Quality Teaching Awards) and regional awards aimed at recognising and rewarding excellence in the teaching profession.
