Faculty of Science Learning and Teaching Awards

The Faculty of Science recognises and promotes excellent teaching and teaching innovation that leads to enhancement of students’ learning outcomes and experience. The Faculty offers an annual Learning and Teaching Award to reward teaching excellence and an annual Learning and Teaching Fellowship to fund strategic, high-profile and sustainable activities.

The Faculty strongly encourages eligible staff to consider applying for these awards which are open to academics and teams of academics in the Faculty of Science. The criteria for the awards are based on those for the Vice Chancellor's (VC) Awards for Learning and Teaching and Office for Learning and Teaching (OLT) Awards and Citations. Award winners will be encouraged to apply for future VC and OLT Awards.

Faculty of Science Learning and Teaching Award

The Learning and Teaching Award recognises an individual or team whose excellent teaching has lead to demonstrated and sustained improvements in learning outcomes for students.

For an individual, the Award provides access to $1000 for teaching development and either a salary loading of $2500 for 3 years or $2500 for 3 years for teaching leadership and development activities. For a team, the Award provides access to $1000 for teaching development and $2500 for 3 years for teaching leadership and development activities.

Faculty of Science Learning and Teaching Fellowship

The Learning and Teaching Fellowship provides funding to support effective and sustainable teaching innovation by an individual or team.

The Fellowship provides access to $1000 for teaching development and $2500 for 3 years for teaching leadership and development activities.
