An interdisciplinary approach to improving student learning in group research projects

Despite the importance employers place on team skills, few university courses incorporate mechanisms which explicitly develop these skills. This inter-disciplinary project aims to develop guidelines for
i. facilitating student understanding of how groups work and the impact of individual differences in teams
ii. supervisor management of group processes in student research projects.
By parallel implementation in environmental science and psychology, principles will be developed for adapting the guidelines across disciplines through recognition of prior learning.
