High School Physics Resources on the Web

The Australian Institute of Physics* web site (http://www.aip.org.au/) has been developed and upgraded over a number of years and is now becoming a useful web site for its members. A web page within this site exists for High School Physics Teaching Resources (http://www.aip.org.au/teachers/teachers.html). Information that currently exists includes: student competitions, school syllabi, societies and associations, student training (e.g. Physics Olympiad), education centres and books.
I would like to see this web site improve for all physics teachers in Australia. Several states that I am aware of have started developing their own resources. An ideal situation would be a coordinated effort by all of the states, involving active teachers from each state.
This talk will illustrate what currently exists and outline what could be developed over the next one to two years.
* The objectives of the Australian Institute of Physics are summarised in the Mission Statement "Promoting the role of Physics in research, education, industry and the community". An accompanying Vision Statement relevant to high school teachers is "promoting and supporting physics teaching and education in schools, colleges and universities".
