This CD ROM contains a large number of images suitable for use in an introductory astronomy unit. I tested it on a system with a single speed CD ROM driveand it was abysmally slow. Newer drives would certainly do better. It is not clear to me how a teacher would actually use the images except by capturing them and printing them out as overhead transparencies. The process of running the stepped sequences using the windows FILE/RUN/BROWSE menu is tedious, and some menu driven shell would improve things immensely. In summary, some work would make this a useful resource but at present there is better material available. |
