Environmental paper profiles
A suggested in-class or homework activty
Go to the Green House section of the Spicer paper web site.
- Go to the Green Icons and study the icons used to code paper properties.
- Go to the Green House Index page.
- From the data given, select ten products with high recycled content, then use the icons to decide which two have the best Green House Credentials.
- Answer the following questions
- What icons should you look for when looking for acid free, low chlorine products?
- Look at the data for Conqueror smooth paper. What do the icons tell you about it?
- Investigate ISO 1400-1. What is the International Standards Organisation?
