| Workshops are very useful tools for sharing in all
stages of the field project, for assessing the status of a project and for
informing the interested parties about the outcomes. Workshops with poster
displays are a powerful means of communication. The following ideas are
for setting up a workshop that will allow different groups, from different
locations in NSW (e.g. in different schools or different community groups)
to come together to share their results and ideas.
- Appoint a workshop convenor
- Set an agenda (see example below)
- Arrange a suitable facility (maybe a room in the council chambers or a
local hall); check on amenities; arrange refreshments
- Send out pre-workshop materials, including a copy of the agenda and
notes from each participating groups, suggest a preferred format for the
talks
- Arrange the use of audio-visual equipment
- Arrange to display posters in a suitable part of the facility
The Agenda
-
Introduction by the convenor, description of the scope of
the workshop, indication of materials available to take away, indication
of the publications to arise from the workshop, if any.
-

study
-
Talk by Group1 (convenor keeps speaker to agreed time
limit, it is important no one goes over their allotted time)
-

-
Tea break at suitable time - time for people to look at
poster displays
-
