Roles
Editor-in-Chief
The role of the Editor-in-Chief is, in collaboration with the UniServe Science office, to facilitate the production of CAL-laborate International by:
- establishing a timeline for the production of each issue of CAL-laborate International ;
- issuing a call for papers through the Regional Editors and Discipline Editors;
- liaising with the Reviews Editor to identify material for review;
coordinating the distribution of papers for refereeing; - ratifying the recommendations made on any paper submitted for review and publishing; and
- determining when sufficient material is available for a printed issue of CAL-laborate International.
Discipline Editors
The role of the Discipline Editors will be to co-ordinate the review process for a particular article. They will identify at least two reviewers for the article (one of whom may be themself), distribute a copy of the article, the reviewer's response form and instructions to each reviewer. They need to advise both the Editor-in-Chief and Uniserve Science of receipt of submissions and progress of those submissions through the review process.
Once the reviews are completed, the Discipline Editor will collate the general comments onto a summary form and combine the suggested ammendments made to the electronic manuscript. The Disicipline Editor will then make a recommendation on the suitability of the article on the basis of these reviews and email the completed summary form and ammended script to the Editor-in-Chief.
