Dr Noel Meyers is a Lecturer in the QUT School of Natural Resource Sciences where he teaches a number of courses in ecology and plant biology. Students recognised him as QUT's 2001 Lecturer of the year. Within the Faculty of Science he is co-Director of the 'Enhancing the Development of Information Literacy in Science' program, a member of the Teaching and Learning (T & L) Committee and T & L Innovation Forum. He has been appointed as a Teaching Fellow in the Queensland University of Technology's Teaching and Learning Support Service (TALSS) where he currently develops T & L strategies for large first year classes. He is currently working on developing teaching and learning environments to encourage student engagement with their learning.
The Pearson Education UniServe Science Teaching Award is a joint initiative of UniServe Science and Pearson Education Australia. The Award is designed to recognise and reward those who make an outstanding contribution to student learning outcomes through the innovative and integrated use of information and communication technologies in university science teaching. Dr Noel Meyers and his team (Dr Bernard Cooke, Dr Duncan Nulty and Dr John Rigby) from QUT have won the 2002 Award.
