A Farewell to University of Sydney Vice-Chancellor and Principal Professor Gavin Brown AO FAA CorrFRSE was held on 20 June 2008, comprising a Farewell Ceremony and Address at 6.00pm in the Great Hall, and a Cocktail Reception at 7.00pm in MacLaurin Hall, Quadrangle.

The Chancellor presents the farewell gifts to Professor Brown which included a leather-bound collection of his regular column 'Obiter Dicta' and an addition to his own art collection, one of the acclaimed series 'Emu Dreaming - My Country' by renowned Indigenous artist Kudditji Kngwarreye.
