Senate dinner 2012

Her Excellency Professor Marie Bashir AC CVO was farewelled by Senate at a dinner in MacLaurin Hall from 6.30pm on Wednesday 5 December 2012. The Vice-Chancellor Dr Michael Spence and the Deputy Chancellor Mr Alan Cameron AO were the hosts, and Mr Cameron was Master of Ceremonies. The guests were current and recently retired members of Senate and external members of Senate Committees, and guests.

Pianist Emily-Rose Sarkova, Bachelor of Music in Classical Piano Performance Sydney Conservatorium of Music, played before and during dinner, and performed Tchaikovsky's 'Dance of the Fairies from The Nutcracker Suite', arranged by Pletnev.

Addresses were given by the Vice-Chancellor and Emeritus Professor Ann Sefton, former Deputy Chancellor and Fellow of Senate. Dr Spence then presented the Chancellor with a gift on behalf of the Senate of the University of Sydney. The Chancellor thanked Senate and gave her response.
