His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh, 1954
Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh visited New Zealand, Australia and Ceylon in 1954. During the tour, His Royal Highness visited the University of Sydney on 4 February 1954.

Presentations to His Royal Highness

His Royal Highness was presented to the Chancellor of the University of Sydney Sir Charles Bickerton Blackburn KCMG OBE and the President of the New South Wales University of Technology Wallace Wurth by the Minister for Education, the Hon R J Heffron.


The Deputy Chancellor of the University of Sydney Sir Charles McDonald was presented to His Royal Highness.

The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Sydney Sir Stephen Roberts was presented. Then the Vice-President Sir John Clancy KBE CMG and the Director of the New South Wales University of Technology Sir Philip Baxter KBE CMG were presented.
