Sir Edward Ford OBE
The honorary degree of Doctor of Letters was conferred upon Sir Edward Ford OBE, MD BS Melb DPH London DTM Sydney, FRCP FRACP FZS FRSanI FRA HistS(Hon), at a conferring of degrees ceremony held in the Great Hall on Saturday 29 May 1971.
Sir Edward Ford was Professor of Preventive Medicine and Director of the School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine in the University of Sydney from 1947 to 1967, and Dean of the Faculty of Medicine from 1953 to 1957. During the war he was Director of Hygiene, Pathology and Entomology in the Australian Army.
