Keith Valentine Leighton Kesteven

The honorary degree of Doctor of Veterinary Science was conferred upon Keith Valentine Leighton Kesteven, BVSc Sydney HonDVSc Qld HonDAgrSc Melb, Hon ARCVS FASAP, at a conferring of degrees ceremony held in the Great Hall on Saturday on 29 May 1971.


Mr Kesteven is one of the University's most distinguished graduates in Veterinary Science and has held high executive office in the United Nations Relief and Rehabilitation. He was one of the first appointees to the Food and Agriculture Organisation, first as Chief of the Animal Industry Branch in the Division of Agriculture (1950-1959) and then as Director of the Animal Production and Health Division until his retirement in 1968.
