Sir Leslie Melville

The honorary degree of Doctor of Science in Economics was conferred upon Sir Leslie Melville, with a distinguished career in banking and finance, by the Chancellor, Sir Hermann Black, in the University's Great Hall on 12 April 1980.

Sir Leslie formerly held the positions of Vice-Chancellor of the ANU, Chairman of the Commonwealth Grants Commission and member of the board of the Reserve Bank.
