The honorary degree of Doctor of Laws was conferred upon the Honourable Sir Laurence Whistler Street KCMG KStJ, LLB Sydney, at a conferring of degrees ceremony held in 1984.

Sir Laurence had been Lieutenant-Governor of NSW and Chief Justice of NSW since 1974.
