Honorary awards

Sir William Tyree

Sir William Tyree and Sir Arthur George were made the first Honorary Fellows of the University at Graduation Ceremonies in the Great Hall on Saturday, 20 April 1985. The awards were established to honour those who have conspiciously and continually supported the welfare and interests of the University.

The Vice-Chancellor Professor John Ward made the presentation and the title was awarded by the Chancellor Sir Hermann Black.
