Nicholas (Nick) Roger Irving

Nick is a candidate for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (History - Faculty of Arts) at the University of Sydney.

His thesis is entitled "Global Thought, Local Action: The Australian Movement against the Vietnam War".

He has been a student at Sydney University since 1999. During that time he has been:

  • a research student for four years, as well as a departmental representative for the Department of History twice.
  • treasurer and then Vice-President of the History Students' Society.
  • Co-President of SUPRA, the Postgraduate Representative Association, in 2010. In this role he has participated in a lot of the processes that affect students, and seen how both Academic Board and senior management perform both academic and administrative governance functions.
