Royal visitors
Her Royal Highness Princess Anne, 1970
In 1970 The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh joined in the celebrations marking Lieutenant James Cook's discovery of Australia 200 years earlier, their five week tour of Australia commencing on 30 March 1970. They were accompanied on this occasion by Princess Anne and, for part of the time, by the Prince of Wales.
Her Royal Highness Princess Anne made a somewhat controversial visit to the University when she lunched at the University of Sydney Women’s Union in Manning House on Tuesday 31 March 1970.
