Dr Kenneth Wilson Knight was Registrar of the University of Sydney from 1975 to 1983. The position of Registrar included being Secretary to Senate.

Professor Knight took up his appointment as Registrar of the University of Sydney on 25 September 1975, following Ms Jean Foley's retirement.
From 1942 to 1958 he held a series of administrative positions in the NSW Education, Treasury and Premier's Departments.
He joined the staff of the University of Queensland in 1959 as a Lecturer in Political Science in the Department of External Studies and, in the following year, became Lecturer in Public Administration in the Department of History and Political Science. He was Head of the Department of Government at the University of Queensland from May 1972. In 1965, he joined the University's Department of Government and was appointed Reader in Public Administration in 1968. He held the J D History Chair of Public Administration there from 1971.
Professor Knight was a member of the Australasian Political Studies Association, the Australian Institute of Political Science, the Australian Institute of International Affairs, the Council on New Guinea Affairs, the Library Association of Australia and the Royal Institute of Public Administration.
He was also a member of a number of community and educational bodies in Queensland, including the Board of Governors of International House, the National Trust of Queensland, Mt Gravatt Teachers' College Council and the State Library Board.
He retired from the University of Sydney in 1983.
