Singapore

University of Sydney graduation ceremonies have been held in Singapore since 1999 for students who had completed programs in Australia.

Annual off-shore graduation ceremonies have been held since 1994 for Singaporean students who have completed the Bachelor conversion programs run by the Faculty of Health Science.

Inaugural graduation ceremony, 1999

The University held its first off-shore graduation ceremony in Singapore for students who had completed programs in Australia. This ceremony was held in conjunction with the annual off-shore graduation ceremony for Singaporean students who have completed the Bachelor conversion programs which have been run by the Faculty of Health Sciences since 1994.

Graduation ceremony, 28 September 2006

The 2006 Singapore Ceremony on 28 September was attended by 80 graduates. Representatives from local universities and hospitals attended the ceremony acknowledging the strong connections between the University and its Singapore partners.

Professor Shih Choon Fong, President of the National University of Singapore, addressed the Sydney graduates and provided insights into the challenges facing the global economy of the 21st Century.

Graduation ceremony, 16 September 2009

The University of Sydney graduation ceremony was held in the Grand Ballroom, Marriott Hotel, Singapore at 7.00pm on 16 September 2009.

Dr Su Guaning, President of Nanyang Technological University, presented the occasional address at the ceremony.

Graduation ceremony, September 2011

The University of Sydney completed a successful visit to Singapore in September 2011 which included a graduation ceremony for 96 nursing students as well as an alumni lunch with more than 15 volunteers and the formation of a Singapore Alumni Steering Committee.

Graduation ceremony, 13 September 2013

The University's graduation ceremony in Singapore was held on Friday 13 September 2013. The proceedings were opened by Pro Chancellor, Alec Brennan AM and the occasional address was delivered by Mr Vincent Chan, Member, Singapore Institute of Management Board of Directors. Some students from the Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery completed their courses of study at the institute in collaboration with the University of Sydney.
