Fellows of Senate

Rose Jackson

Ms Rose Jackson was the Fellow of Senate elected by and from the undergraduate students of the University of Sydney from 1 December 2005 to 30 November 2007.

As a Fellow of Senate, Rose was an ex-officio member of the Senate/Sports Liaison Committee and the Senate/Student Associations Liaison Committee.

She was a member of the former Senate/SRC Liaison Committee and an ex-officio member of Senate's former Student Appeals Committee (Exclusions and Readmissions).

Fellow of Senate: 1 December 2005 - 30 November 2007

As at 1 December 2007, Rose was a Bachelor of Economics (Social Sciences)/Bachelor of Law student, and was the 2006 President of the National Union of Students, the Peak Student Organisation Body of Australia, based in Melbourne, and the 2005 President of the Student Representative Council of the University of Sydney.

She sat on a number on University Boards and Committees in 2005, including the Academic Board and its Undergraduate Studies Committee and Learning and Teaching Committee, and through them came to realise how important a strong student voice is. She wants to continue to make sure that student representation is a valued and important part of University decision-making.
