Sydney Medical School - 150 years
The Faculty of Medicine celebrated its 150th anniversary in June 2006 with a series of special events, symposia, recitals and tours. The theme was “Ambition Inspired by Achievement”.

The March 2006 edition of Radius, the Newsletter of the University of Sydney Medical Graduates’ Association, was a special anniversary edition.

A special graduation ceremony and a dinner in the Great Hall were the high point of the week’s celebrations.
At the special graduation ceremony, Sir Michael Marmot and Professor John Chalmers received the degree of Doctor of Medicine (honoris causa) along with Dr Norman Swan.

Sir Michael and Sir Gustav Nossal (also an alumnus of this Faculty) spoke at the graduation.

A dinner was held after the ceremony on 13 June.
