Terms of reference

The Finance and Infrastructure Committee will:

  1. Oversee the financial stewardship of the University, including:
    1. implementation of the UEM;
    2. examining financial performance of faculties, divisions, central portfolios and the University strategically;
    3. monitoring and reporting on the implementation of strategies in the 2011–2015 Financial Forecast, and
    4. recommending strategies to improve financial performance.
  2. Oversee management of risk, including:
    1. monitoring the University’s Risk Register;
    2. reviewing periodic Internal Audit Reports;
    3. monitoring incidents and business continuity, and
    4. checking internal Control including related policies and procedures.
  3. Oversee the management and development of the campus and physical infrastrure, including:
    1. reviewing the University’s Campus Master Plan;
    2. in collaboration with the SEG Projects and Space Prioritisation working groups, advising SEG in respect of capital prioritisation issues;
    3. monitoring capital projects;
    4. in collaboration with the Education and Research Training Committee and the Research Committee, assessing physical and digital infrastructure needs and requests and advise SEG on priorities for investment across all areas of the University’s activities, and
    5. reviewing advice from the Heritage Committee and recommend action to SEG as appropriate.
  4. Oversee the student accommodation strategy and related issues, including:
    1. development of new student housing projects, and
    2. operational management and linkages with related University strategies.
  5. Oversee digital infrastructure and information management plans and monitor their implementation, including:
    1. prioritisation of capital expenditure, and
    2. IT security and related strategies.
  6. Develop strategies and policies for improving the efficiency of distributed services.
